The name “Christ before me” comes from the prayer St. Patrick’s Breastplate. But it could just as well refer to Hebrews 12:1-2, which envisions life as an endurance race, with the runner always looking ahead to Jesus, both because he has already finished and because being with him is the goal.

Faith requires imaginative vision. I hope that my meditations here are a contribution to faith’s vision of Christ. To see Jesus is to see God’s glory and all else illumined by him.
